In the exhibition catalogue, Roderick Camilleri, the curator of the exhibition, writes:
‘Chircop strove to discover the limitless assets of the basic building blocks of abstract art. He moved away from the fetters of traditional figurative paintings and literal representations to probe into silent and reflective non-objective representation.
This exhibition presents a lifetime endeavor engulfed and consumed into such a thorough artistic exploration. It represents Chircop’s constant search for new visual vocabulary, and showcases his gradual transformation across the different stages of his career, spanning over sixty years of artistic production featuring his early stages, his mature work, and finally shedding considerable light on the last phase of his artistic output.’
